Bachelor of Science in Accountancy

The 4-year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy program of the College is designed to make people excel in the accountancy licensure examinations and acquire certification as a public accountant pursuant to Republic Act 9298. This program, from one of the best accounting schools in the Philippines, provides students with the most intensive, rigorous, and thorough training for the CPA Board examinations. It also covers the essential branches of the accountancy discipline with focus on financial accounting and statutory audit. It also develops students to be conversant with IT concepts for business systems, internal control standards and practices, and security of information.

The Accountancy program includes a CPA review module and serves as an excellent platform for supplementation of knowledge in order that students may obtain other related professional qualifications and certifications that are internationally recognized such as Certified Management Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Forensic Accountant, and Certified Fraud Examiner. The Accountancy graduate also has the opportunity to pursue and obtain a master’s degree in management or accountancy, or alternatively, pursue a law degree for the purpose of becoming a member of the Bar.
Entry-level positions include Junior Auditor, Tax Staff, MS Staff, Financial Accountant, Internal Audit Staff, Financial Analyst, Budget Analyst, Credit Analyst, Cost Accountant, Auditing Examiner, State Accountant, LGU Accountant, Revenue Officer, Financial Services Specialist, and Accounting Instructor.

Junior to middle manager positions include Audit Manager, Tax Manager, Consulting Manager, Comptroller, Senior Information Systems Auditor, Senior Fraud Examiner, Senior Forensic Auditor, State Accountant; State Auditor, Financial Services Manager, Audit Services Manager, Senior Auditor, Senior Faculty; and Accounting Department Chair. Examples of senior level positions are Partner in a public accounting – auditing firm, Chief Information Officer, Vice President for Finance, and Dean of Accountancy. BSBA in Business Economics

The Business Economics program of the College is a business management variant that develops people to become proficient in the field of applied economics using economic theory and quantitative methods to analyze business enterprises and the factors that contribute to the variety of organizational structures and the relationships of enterprises with capital, labor and markets.

The program is concerned with economic issues and problems related to business organization, management, and strategy. Issues and problems include explanation of why firms emerge and exist, why firms expand horizontally, vertically and spatially, the role of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship, the significance of organizational structure, the relationship of firms with the employees, the providers of capital, the customers, the government, and the interactions between firms and the business environment.

It is designed to provide students with a strong foundation and understanding of the world of economics covering domestic and global economic conditions as well as the applicable methods and contemporary practical applications of business economic analysis. The program includes topics and courses in banking, investments, business processes, laws, international economics, managerial economics, and human resource economics.

BSBA in Financial Management

The Financial Management program of the College is a business management variant that aims to develop people with the necessary managerial knowledge and skills for the efficient application of techniques in the financial operations of public entities, corporate enterprises, or private individuals. Financial operations include planning cash flows, analysis of funding requirements, and the efficient procurement and prudent utilization of funds.

The program covers the analytical processes involved in order to facilitate asset investment decisions, financial decisions related to the raising of project funds from various resources, and dividend decisions involving distribution of allocable surplus.

The Management Accounting program of the College is a business management variant that provides people with the necessary managerial knowledge and skills for the efficient application of techniques in the Controllership operations of public entities, corporate enterprises and business entrepreneurs covering strategic planning, budgeting, financial accounting, financial analysis and reporting, cost accounting, management performance accounting, investment management, internal control systems, inventory control, asset management, and risk management.
The Management Accounting program also serves as an excellent platform for supplementation of knowledge in order that students may obtain professional qualifications and certifications that are internationally recognized such as Certified Management Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Forensic Accountant, and Certified Fraud Examiner. The People Management program of the College, also known as Human Resource Development and Management (HRDM) program, is a business management variant designed to make students proficient in the tasks of job analysis, benefits and compensation planning and management, recruitment, selection and hiring, performance monitoring and reporting, organization and culture development, people safety and wellness, employee motivation, communication, training and retooling.

In addition, the program develops people to lead, motivate, inspire, and encourage and also know how to discipline and fire employees. The graduate of this program can integrate all these tasks to help create a motivated and productive work force in any modern and progressive enterprise.

The Legal Management program of the College develops people to become enterprise managers, equips them with a working knowledge of the legal environment within which all business enterprises operate, and prepares them to pursue a law program or any post-baccalaureate program in corporate management or public administration. Cognizant of these expected outcomes, the curriculum of the Legal Management program consists of professional management, accounting, finance, marketing, and law courses that include obligations and contracts, taxation, labor law, family law, laws on business organization, and laws on intellectual property, among others.

Academic instruction is blended with research and community extension activities plus 670 hours of internship that immerses students in actual work situations in the offices of law firms, judges, prosecutors, lawmakers, Sanggunian (LGU Council) members, legal counselors, labor arbiters, corporate lawyers, investigation companies, and personnel managers.

Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration

The BS Customs Administration program of LPU Laguna is ideal for those who want to pass the licensure examination for Customs Brokers on their first take and who intend to pursue a career in the exciting world of import-export, international logistics, and customs management.
Some of the most popular entry-level and senior management positions for a licensed customs broker are Declarant, Air/Sea Cargo Documentation Clerk, Import-Export Assistant, Customs Examiner/Appraiser, International Trading Documentations Officer, Customs Bonded Warehouse Officer, International Logistics Supervisor, Customs Broker, International Courier, and International Cargo Forwarder.
