LPU-Laguna got a 100% passing rate in the recently concluded Industrial Engineering Certification Exam
LPU-Laguna got a 100% passing rate in the recently concluded Industrial Engineering Certification Exam, as compared to the national passing rate of 76.2%. Four Lyceans successfully passed the Certification Exam for Industrial Engineers last November 23, 2014. Our very own alumni- Ms. Althea Mendoza, Mr. Francis Ryan Aquino, Mr. Emilio L. Pabon Jr. and Mr. A-Jay Rimas — are LPU-Laguna’s Certified Industrial Engineers The exam covered eight subjects: Engineering Economics, Engineering Management, Operation Research, Probability and Statistics, Production System, Elementary Electronics, Chemistry, and Engineering Ethics.
This certification exam was administered by Industrial Engineering Certification Board and Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers to evaluate and test the competency of industry engineering graduates. It equates to licensure examination of the of the other engineering field. The said examination is also a requirement to become an Associate ASEAN Engineer.

COECS Research Goes International
This preceded the successful COECS Faculty Research Colloquium held last September 17, 2014 in LPU-Laguna Campus were faculty members and students convened to talk about various significant studies that contribute as solutions to contemporary issues. COECS students have also manifested the love to research. In fact, eighteen student-researches were invited for presentation in the “National Research Seminar & Workshop on Undergraduate Student Academic Leadership and Research”.
This was conducted in Baguio City last Oct. 22-24, 2014. However, only ten (10) researches were presented. The research capability of the college shows a great potential for the institution to be known as a centre for research in Engineering and Computer Studies.
