a. library users

a1. The library users are university students, faculty members, administrators, staff and alumni and off campus researchers.
a2. LPU-L Alumni should secure alumni card from Alumni Office, alumni cardholder entitles them to a fifty percent (50%) discount of the library service fee.
a3. Off-campus researchers should present a valid ID and a referral letter from their Chief Librarian. NOCEI member are free and non-member’s school will pay a service fee of P20.00 per visit.

b. reservations

b1. Cellular phone should be put on silent mode while inside the library.
b2. Observe courtesy at all times.
b3. All library materials, resources and facilities should be used with care.
b4. Observe library loan policies at all times.
b5. All bags of all sorts must be deposited at the baggage area before entering the collection section and cyber library.
b6. Bag numbers must be taken care of properly. In case of loss, a fine of P50.00 will be charged.

C. Sanctions

c1. First Offense – Students shall be given their first warning for any violation.
c2. Repeated offenses incur Four Weeks suspension.
c3. Theft, mutilation and defacement of any library materials are a major offense. If found guilty, library users will be send to Student Affairs Office for Disciplinary action and suspension library privileges for the whole semester.

D. Circulation Procedure

d1. Registration
  • Library users should register or validate first their ID before they can avail all library privileges. Registration and validation for library use is every semester.
  • Requirements for registration: Registration form of the current semester and One piece recent 1X1 ID picture
d2. Procedure
  • Approach the circulation counter staff and inform of intent to register or validate.
  • Fill-out the necessary information
d3. Borrowing of Library Materials
  • Verify the availability of books through the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC).
  • Copy the call number, and go to the shelves to locate the books.
  • Proceed to the circulation counter, write your name and student number in the book card found at the back of the book, and then present it together with your ID to the librarian or staff on duty.

d5. Returning of Library Materials

d6. Issuance of Referral Letter
Students who wish to go to other libraries to supplement their research should seek a referral letter from the Reference Librarian. The referral letter should be duly signed by the Chief Librarian, who endorses the students to other libraries.

d7. Lost Books / Library Materials
A book or library material that is lost while on loan should be reported immediately to the librarian. Lost book / materials must be settled within a week after it was reported. It shall either be replaced with the same title or by another title (at the discretion of the librarian) or pay the material based on its current price including the accumulated overdue.
