Enrico C. Garcia of CAS, Presenter in ICSLE 2014

Mr. Enrico C. Garcia of College of Arts and Sciences recently presented his research paper entitled, “Integration of Cultural Ecology in Higher Education Curricula” at International Conference on Social Science, Literature and Education (ICSLE 2014) held last November 17 and 18 at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, Canada.

ICSLE 2014 was sponsored by The Canadian Research Centre for Humanities and Science (CRCHS), it aims to compile different researches all over the world, gather the participants to share their individual studies, and to integrate each paper on their second volume of journal collection.

According to Mr. Garcia, his paper is all about an application of a new course which is cultural ecology (combining sociology and ecology) to be integrated in higher education curricula.

“This is so significant in student’s remarkable contributions in protecting and sustaining the environment. My paper shows that culture plays an important role on how students behave when talk about the environmental principles,” Mr. Garcia said.

Mr. Garcia also presented his research entitled, “Correlates of Environmental Attitude Among Graduating Students in CALABARZON” last October in General Santos City.
