LPU faculty members participate in Bangladesh exchange program

Lyceans have truly conquered the globe.

To deepen the existing relationship and to foster international academic exchange with Daffodil International University, Lyceum of the Philippines University-Laguna sent two of its outstanding faculty members to the Bangladeshi institution, Academic Year 2016-2017.

Dr. Neil Balba from the College of Engineering and Computer Studies and Dr. Candido Perez from the College of Business and Accountancy journeyed to DIU in the beginning of the first semester of current academic year to serve as exchange faculty members.

Dr. Balba had a series of lectures for both DIU students and faculty members that included “Effective Research and Innovation using ICT,” “ICT Career and Higher Education for CSE Students,” “Outcomes-Based Education Processes – An Accreditation Perspective,” “Final Year Thesis and Project Supervision,” “Journey to Permanent Campus for Grand Session with Students and Teachers,” “Project Management: Risks Evaluation Method,” “Project Management: Value Management,” “Need for Change in the Course Curricula of Business School: Positioning and Competency of Business School in BIMSTEC Region,” “The Secret of Success: Enlightening Career of the Future Professionals,” and “The Ultimate Role of Employees and Teachers in the Organization: A Perspective.”

He also delivered a talk on the topic, “International Accreditation and Outcomes-Based Education” and served as the conference chair in DIU’s International Conference Session in which the Keynote Speaker was Dr. Perez. During his stay, Dr. Balba was given the Best Paper Award in the International Speaker Category during the Bangladesh International Conference.

Dr. Perez, on the other hand, is teaching both Business graduate and undergraduate students for one semester. In return, DIU will send their lecturer-researcher, Prof. Muhammad Rayhanul Islam to teach in LPU.

LPU and DIU are both members of the Association of Universities in Asia and the Pacific. DIU is the Top 1 private university in Information Technology in Bangladesh.
