As a way of expanding international relations to adapt to the changing times, Lyceum of the Philippines University-Laguna welcomed Taylor’s University’s Pro-Vice Chancellor for Global Engagement, Dr. J.S. Perry Hobson, for a visit and a series of lectures on Developing a Strategic Plan for Internationalization and Innovation in the Tourism and Hospitality Industries, November 12.
In his first lecture aimed at the senior leaders of LPU Laguna, he shared the best practices of TU in pursuing internationalization, which have been instrumental in making TU a Quacquarelli-Symonds (QS) ranking institution in a short period of time. Dr. Hobson also touched on taking a global approach in the development and delivery of academic programs and research agenda. Global employability, international student experience, and forging collaborations with agencies and institutions around the world were also tackled.

Later that day, he went on discussing how thinking out of the box can be beneficial to students pursuing a career in Tourism or Hotel Management.
Dr. Hobson was received by administrative officials led by the Executive Vice President and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Flora V. Javier, and a number of high school and college students.

LPU Laguna administrative officials earlier visited Taylor’s University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a benchmarking activity.
