CAS Week 2015

The College of Arts and Sciences celebrates its college week with the theme, “Reliving Yesterday, United Today”. The celebration started with a launching on January 28 where the contestants of CAS Idol and Mr. and Ms. CAS 2015 were introduced.

 

The official celebration began on the 29th. A mass was held in the PHL lobby followed by a parade of actors and actresses who starred on the film entries of the students. CAS wows the Lyceum crowds with a flash mob dance participated by AB Communication, AB MMA and BS Psychology students. Afterwards the art and photo exhibit was opened to the public for viewing in basement 1 and 2.

 

Meanwhile, physical activities spiced up the celebration. Students from all courses in CAS participated in “Amazing race”. Professors took part in the basketball and volleyball games. Some chosen students from each courses of CAS presented in the research colloquium where their theses are discussed. “The Noise of CAS”, a parody of the popular singing contest franchise, ‘The Voice’, entertained the audience with participants belting out out-of-tune music. The ‘Premiere Night’ closes the first day of the CAS week.

 

January 30, second day of the celebration had a rundown of a number of events including a flash mob, ‘On-the spot Photo Contest’, ‘Psych Quiz Bee’, ‘All Throughout Film Showing’, and a ‘seminar presented by Ms. Trish Roque, Mr. Arwin Clor and John Paul Seño’, ‘CAS Idol’, Bet ng CAS’ and ‘Talent Night’. Lara Leslie Ordinario, a second year AB Communication student, wins the battle in CAS Idol. Meanwhile, Mr. Jervis Gonzales, overthrows other professors in ‘Bet ng CAS’.

 

January 31, the last day of celebration had the most awaited event that is the CAS ball which included the giving of awards for the participants of CASFA and the pageant night with question and answer portion. Later that night the new Mr. and Ms. CAS has been declared, where Mr. Arval Vallejo a 4th year ABCOMM student and Ms. Christine Joy Velasco a BS Psychology student won the competition which means that they will be the ones’ to represent the CAS in the upcoming Mr. and Ms. Lyceum.
