The National Association of UNESCO Clubs of the Philippines conducted its annual Internal Assembly for the Youth of UNESCO (Y4U), with the theme: Championing SDGs Through Grassroots Action Of, For, and By All last September 20-23 at Cebu Normal University, Cebu City.
One of the highlights of the event is the awarding of the 10 Outstanding UNESCO Club Youth Leaders. Hundreds of college student leaders from all over the Philippines applied for the prestigious award. The UNESCO awardees were chosen through their socio-civic engagements, academic and extra-curricular activities, and leadership experiences that are based on the ideals of UNESCO. The students that are candidates for the award passed through series of reviews done by the different respected reviewers in the Philippines. And with pride and honor, one of the students from Lyceum of the Philippines–Laguna was awarded as the Top 6 Outstanding UNESCO Club Youth Leader. She is Ericka Joyce Panghulan, a 5th year Industrial Engineering student and currently the Director of Activities of the PIIE Calabarzon Student Chapter and the Junior Adviser of the College of Engineering and Computer Studies College Council.
