BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology aims to produce Radiologic Technologists who are imbued with 21st century skills and are competent to fulfill professional responsibilities in the following areas: diagnostic and therapeutic imaging, radiation safety and protection, patient care, administration and management, education, research, entrepreneurship, and life-long learning
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Three to five years after graduation, the Radiologic Technology graduates shall have:
- Provided health care services by applying radiographic imaging; pertinent radiographic pharmacology and various radiation energies to humans for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes in different health care settings locally and/or internationally
- Participated in technology-based research locally and/or globally for the advancement of Radiologic professions that will contribute to the overall social, mental and physical health of the community and society
- Pursued continuing education in professional practice and management skills and/or attained specialization in the field of radiologic science including but not limited to Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Computed Tomography scan, Ultrasound, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine and Interventional Radiology
- Participated in various community activities and involvement in community and environment issues and concern
Student Outcomes
Upon graduation, the graduates shall have the ability to:
a. Apply scientific knowledge, technical skills, and the proper work attitude and values necessary for the practice of Radiologic Technology.
b. Understand the scope of local and international professional practice.
c. Implement radiation safety and protection measures.
d. Demonstrate compassionate patient care.
e. Show beginning leadership, management, and entrepreneurial skills.
f. Engage in academic and research activities.
g. Promote the value of pursuing life-long learning.
h. Advocate love of country and service to the Filipino people.
CAREER OPTIONS
Graduates of Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology are expected to perform any of the following roles:
- Radiologic Technologist
(Radiography, CT-Scan, MRI, Ultrasound, Interventional Radiography and Radiation Therapy)
- Administrator
- Educator
- Researcher
