BSA LECTURE SERIES

The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy program of LPU Laguna takes priority in preparing its members for one of the hardest board examinations in the Philippines which is the Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants. The BSA program, under the College of Business and Accountancy, has a very different and competent take in their line-up of board exam subjects. Students learn the basics of accounting in their first year and this serves as their foundation for the harder and increasing number of major subjects in their succeeding years.

With this, one of the measures taken is putting up a Special Online Lecture Series for BSA students at every end of the term as to recall and summarize their previous lessons from the semester. This is held with the aid of the CBA Department and facilitated by the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants. Speakers are invited for this Lecture Series and upon relying to them the scope of the discussion, they would release a reviewer file which will later on be discussed during their discourse.

For this school year, BSA students already had two of this lecture series. The first was held December 2020 where second year and third year students, on separate schedules, participated in their first term recall of major subjects. The speakers for this series are Mr. Johncris Natividad and Ms. Gladyleanne Luna who are both BSA LPU Laguna alumni and topnotchers of the CPA Board Exam 2018.

Mr. Joseph Co’s discussion on AFAR with third year BSA students last April 18, 2021.

Mr. Johncris Natividad, BSA LPU-L alumnus on his lecture with third year BSA and BSMA students, December 8, 2020.

Ms. Gladyleanne Luna, Top 10 of LECPA 2018, discussing Intermediate Accounting 1 to second year students, December 12, 2020.

The second lecture series was held for the third years after the second trimester. Mr. Joseph Co was invited for the discussion and recap of the junior’s Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting. The discussion was deemed productive by the students as the speaker was able to tackle the challenging topic on easier and simpler terms. After the lecture, certificates were sent both to student attendees and to Mr. Co.
