Japanese exec visits LPU-L

Lyceum of the Philippines University-Laguna welcomed Mr. Takashi Hori, president of ASA Connect, Inc., June 3. Mr. Hori’s visit is for a possible tie-up between LPU-Laguna and his Japanese firm in offering English language courses for Japanese nationals. He was accompanied by Atty. Mark Laurel, a member of LPU-Laguna’s board of trustees.

LPU International High School students in their Japanese yukata greeted Hori as he arrived in the campus. The LPU-Laguna Concert Singers rendered song numbers while the Lyceum Spartans Dance Troupe also danced for the foreign visitor. Department heads and other school employees lined-up at the lobby and also greeted him the Japanese way. This was followed by a short program in the board room.

Executive Vice President and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Flora V. Javier started the program with her welcome remarks. This was followed by a presentation on the background and programs of LPU-Laguna by Ms. Felisse Marianne Z. San Juan, director of Center for Internationalization and Continuing Education. Mr. Rizalino Giovanni Juliano, coordinator of the Center for Language Learning (CELL), presented the CORE Language Program of the school.

College of Arts and Sciences Associate Dean Celia A. Tibayan served as the mistress of ceremonies. The LPU-Laguna Power Team led Mr. Hori in a campus tour after the program.
