The Philippine Technological Council Accreditation and Certification Board for Engineering and Technology (PTC-ACBET) awarded certificates to two programs of the College of Engineering and Computer Studies namely, Electronics Engineering and Computer Engineering during a ceremony held at the Audio Visual Room last October 26, 2018. The programs were inspected last November 8-10, 2017.
The two year accreditation status of these programs started in 2017 and will last until 2019. PTC-ACBET will have an interim visit of the two programs in March 2019.
The PTC is the sole representative of the Philippines, being a provisional member to the Washington Accord. Washington Accord recognizes the substantial equivalency of engineering programs accredited by full members or signatory bodies and recommends that graduates of said accredited programs be recognized by the other bodies as having met the academic requirements for entry to the practice of engineering.
The awarding ceremonies brought together the school officials, faculty members and students of engineering and PTC officials namely, Engr. Federico Monsada, PTC President, Dr. Lydia Tansinsin, ACBET Chair and Engr. Emmanuel Caguimbal, PTC Quality Assurance Manager. Certificates of ECE and CpE were accepted by Dr. Peter P. Laurel, Dr. Flora V. Javier, Engr. Ricky V. Bustamante and Engr. Favis Joseph Balinado.
