LPU LAGUNA CITHM obtained 2nd Place OVERALL CHAMPION!

April 24, 2021 — The Union of Filipino Tourism Educators (UFTE) in partnership with Our Lady of Fatima University – CHIM holds this year’s UFTE Annual National Students Congress and Skills Competition (Special Edition) with the theme: “Start up: TOURISM Again”,

The theme of the said event is aligned with the UN World Tourism Organizations’ theme of “Tourism and Rural Development” for 2020 and the recently released policy brief, “COVID 19 and Transforming Tourism” of the UNWTO Secretary-General.  This campaign seeks to highlight that Tourism needs to thrive in this time of pandemic. Transforming tourism and rural development are two further elements in the roadmap for the sector to regain its unique status as a source of hope and opportunity for all.

 

In over 50+ Tourism and Hospitality Colleges and Universities found around the Philippines in varieties of tourism skills competition.

Even though we are practicing the new normal education system due to the health crisis, CITHM students and coaches did not hold back and showcased their skills in over 50+ Tourism and Hospitality Colleges and Universities found around the Philippines in varieties of tourism skills competition.

In this event, students and coaches surely brought LPU-Laguna the recognition.

For the “Flight Attendant Showmanship category”, the competitors Bridget Melody M. Aldueza and Erin Gail H. Esquivel together with the alternate competitor Jennifer C. Lemaitre won Silver award with the help of their coaches Ms. July Aze V. Barcenas and Ms. Maureen D. Perez.

For the “Events Management Festival Proposal” category, coaches Chef Nelson J. Gamurot, Ms. July Aze V. Barcenas and Ms. Maureen D. Perez was so proud of the competitors, Nicole Dane R. Tolentino, Erica Feyne A. Manalo, Erika May B. Llanes, Dan Jethro B. Aquino, Myko A. Matienzo together with the E-vents alternates, Aldrin Geric G. Castillo, Alexa Demonteverde and Jade Kimberly A. Pagdilao who won Silver award.

For the “Hospitality and Tourism Research Presentation” category, competitors Mayen V. Amores, Faye Therese G. Tabla and Ella Mai A. Rellores together with their coach Mr. Ryan Joseph Calinao are proud to bring home Bronze award.

Some of the competitors and their coaches are not able to bring home the award, but the fact that they represented the name of beloved LYCEUM OF THE PHILIPPINES – LAGUNA, they carried the pride and honor of the University is a big achievement and milestone for every student that serves as their steppingstone.

For the “Tour Guiding” category, coach Dr. Ryan A. Gamoso’s pride Carmel Joseph C. Remoroza made sure that he presented with confidence carrying the legacy of LPU-Laguna’s CITHM.

For the “Tour Package Proposal” category, coaches Mr. Christian C. Aguado and Dr. Juvy Tamondong, together with the competitors Kate C. Gella and Maricar Ofren possessed the competitive attitude of a Lycean through out the competition.

For the last category the “Travel Commercial” coaches Mr. Kobe M. Pasahol and Ms. July Aze V. Barcenas and the competitors Trisha Mae Villacruz and Stephanie Grace Resplandor did their best for the attempt to bring home the title.

“This would not be possible without the all-encompassing endeavor of the Lyceum of the Philippines University – Laguna College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management in equipping the students for their journey even in the face of adversity and of course, to the coaches for their diligence, dedication, and professionalism in supporting the students through the process.”, said LPU Laguna CITHM’s League of Tourism Students.
