LPU-Laguna kicks off its year-long 20th Founding Anniversary Celebration

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝗟𝘆𝗰𝗲𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗟𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗮 (𝗟𝗣𝗨-𝗟) 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿-𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗱𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲: 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬.
Esteemed government officials and academicians from the region graced the celebration as LPU-L paid tribute to the legacy of Dr. Sotero H. Laurel during the wreath laying ceremony headed by the University Chancellor, Dr. Raymund Arcega and the 20th Founding Anniversary Overall Chair, Dean Abram Emmanuel Peralta.
“After 20 long years, LPU-Laguna achieved the highest position in education industry. Together with other branches, it was regarded by the Commission of Higher Education (CHED) as one of the leading institutions,” stated Dr. Arcega during his welcoming remarks.
Joining the celebration virtually, University President Dr. Peter Laurel shared that leadership is the ability to transform vision into reality. He also expressed his gratitude to all the people in 20 years who built LPU-Laguna to what it is today.
“We celebrate this leadership of all the people who have worked very hard. Today, we are proud to be an autonomous site of higher learning and one of the youngest to reach that distinction,” Dr. Laurel proudly claimed.
Senior Vice President Frederick Badillo of LPU-Batangas, commended the institution for its current status which according to him, was a clear manifestation of a great leadership and excellent vision.
“LPU-Laguna really evolved from a private college to becoming one of the top universities, not only in CALABARZON, but in the entire country,” Senior Vice President Badillo.
Vice President for Administration Maria Teresa Pilapil of LPU-Cavite mentioned how far LPU-Laguna has become and stated their support as the university’s younger sister.
“LPU-Cavite look at you in awe and pray that we too will be able to make this mark in our own time. In the meantime, we congratulate you for the 20 years of not only surviving, but flourishing,” Ms. Pilapil remarked.
CHED Regional Office (RO) IV officials also expressed their congratulatory messages to LPU-Laguna for its 20 years of continuous commitment to quality education and its resilience despite the current health crisis in the world.
“For the years that LPU-Laguna has existed, your institution has helped so many individuals. It has improved the lives of many people. Your institution has contributed a lot to the progress and development of our region through providing the needed quality educational services,” remarked CHED RO IV Director Dr. Amelia Biglete, through a video message.
“Congratulations for the institution’s long-standing work in providing industry driven higher education. I commend you for 20 years of great success and look forward to see you grow and flourish in the future success into bringing the students and the global community,” added former Director of CHED RO IV Dr. Emmylou B. Yanga.
Meanwhile, former CHED RO IV Director Dr. Isabel Inlayo thanked LPU-L for being a strong partner of CHED in carrying out its mandate in the promotion of quality higher education in the country.
Public officials from Laguna and Batangas also expressed their special messages to the institution.
Barangay Makiling Chairwoman Hon. Aigrette Lajara mentioned how big LPU-L’s heart for the needs of the community it is situated in while Sto. Tomas Vice Mayor Hon. Armenio Silva said that the institution served as a catalyst, not only intellectually but also to the character formation of a well-rounded individual.
Cabuyao Mayor Hon. Rommel Gecolea and Tanauan Vice Mayor Atty. Herminigildo Trinidad also joined the celebration with messages of congratulations to LPU-L’s achievements.
Meanwhile, Calamba City Councilor Hon. Joey Chipeco claimed that producing thousands of graduates over the years is a testament to the university’s success while Batangas 5th district Representative Hon. Marvin Mariño proclaimed greatness in the next coming years of LPU-L.
Laguna 2nd District Representative Hon. Ruth Mariano-Hernandez pointed out that the institution’s mission, emphasizing truth and courage for God and country, is the noble reason of the school’s success.
The 20th Founding Anniversary Celebration’s grand Launch ended with the unveiling of the giant tarpaulin of the activities laid out for the whole year.
