LIPA CITY, BATANGAS (September 10, 2019) – LPU-Laguna is home to numerous Lipeño scholars through the Lipa City Scholarship Program (formerly called MAS Scholarship Program). These numbers will increase as the City Government of Lipa signed the renewal of Memorandum of Agreement with LPU-Laguna on Scholarship Grants.

The number of scholarship slots for Lipeño at LPU-Laguna will be doubled from 10 to 20. LPU-Laguna is among the accredited Higher Education Institutions and only private university in Laguna under the Lipa City Scholarship Program.

The grant will cover the tuition and miscellaneous fee of those qualified students. Lipa LGU promised that the number of scholars last year will not decrease as a testament to the city’s mission of helping Lipeño youth to have access to college education.

”Patuloy pa rin nating susuportahan ang edukasyon ng kabataang Lipeño,” Mayor Eric Africa said during the MOA Signing.

Other HEIs who signed the MOA are Lipa City Colleges, Batangas College of Arts and Science, FAITH, Royal British College, STI Lipa and LPU-Batangas.

According to Beverly D. Luansing-Erni, Registrar of LPU-Laguna, the institution is working to help more students to be granted with scholarship grants through the funding of LGU. She further added that they are making an action plan on how to increase the number of scholars from Lipa.

The MOA signing was attended by Lipa City Mayor Eric Africa, LPU-Laguna Vice President for Operations and External Relations Mr. Crisostomo M. Malabuyoc, School Registrar Ms. Beverly D. Luansing-Erni and other representatives from the accredited HEIs. — AA/JPS
