Hail and Congratulations to selected Computer Engineering students of the College of Engineering and Computer Studies for winning the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP award in the recently concluded annual Mechatronics and Power Robotics Competition last June 4, 2016 at the MIRDC-DOST Compound, Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines sponsored by Mechatronics and Robotics Society of the Philippines in cooperation with Hytec Power Inc. and partnered by DOST-MIRDC. The program was organized and hosted by the Power Robotics Operations Action Crew of Hytec Power Inc.
The objective of this Robotics Competition is to allow the students to be self-sufficient in the field of robotics and automation by giving them real-time hands-on exposure in building robots. Developing new skills and knowledge learned, optimizing their capabilities to grow, to be competitive and to be a professional.
This exciting competition was open to all college and high school students in celebration of the Metals and Engineering Week. The students worked with their teammates to solve challenges using RoboRobo® kits. This competition involved over 15 teams coming from different schools in the Philippines.
As part of the competition preparation, the Power Robotics Operations Action Crew of Hytec Power Inc. has offered instruction in robotics workshop and programming. The Robotics team trained the students on how to build and program robots, and on how best to solve the challenge.
