The CSR Youth Award 2016 is a project of Benita and Catalino Yap Foundation (BCYF) in cooperation with the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) and National CSR Educators Council (NCEC). This award aims to recognize outstanding young people all over the Philippines who practice personal CSR (3.0). This intends to recognize college students and young professionals in three categories of CSR 3.0 which is citizenship, sustainability, and social responsibility. Recognition programs enable leaders who can champion at school thought, case, and the like. These programs play a vital role in providing society with role models and inspirational examples of individuals/organizations who can be exemplars in the area of Social Development.
This year, LPU-St. Cabrini College of Allied Medicine’s alumnus, Edmar SJ. Elcarte, was named as one of the 7 national finalists in the students’ category out of hundreds of nominees. Edmar SJ. Elcarte is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing in the year 2012, a registered nurse and currently taking up his Masters degree at the University Sto. Tomas. His entry project in the recent conducted CSR Youth Awards 2016 along with his other social responsibility activities is the Friends of Barbara Franciscan Miscarellian Youth which he served as a volunteer facilitator/organizer.
This year, the CSR Youth Awards ceremony was held in the Gabaldon Room, Club Filipino, San Juan City, Metro Manila, with the theme: Recognizing Youth Role Models in Citizenship, Sustainability or Social Responsibility. It was attended by yours truly (Beverly D. Luansing), Reychelle E. Populi the ISR Office Assistant, and Ms. Danica M. Villasanta, the Research Assistant.
