The LPU Laguna College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management once again gathered awards and recognition from the recently concluded Philippine Culinary Cup 2015 World Food Expo held last August 5-8, 2015 at SMX Pasay.
The award-winning masterpieces of the CITHM students.
Jireh H. Rodriguez, currently taking up BSIHM specialized in Culinary Arts and Kitchen Operations (CAKO) got the Highest Gold award in the Wedding Cake Category. Nelson D. Gamurot, also a BSIHM-CAKO student, received also the Gold award in the Bread Pastry Showpiece. While, Maricel U. Masongsong, a BSIHM Cruiseline Operations and Hotel Services student, got the Silver award in the Plated Desserts category.
The CITHM instructors were also recognized wherein Chef Samantha Lloyd Arevalo along with BSIHM-CAKO student Maricel U. Masongsong won the Silver Award in the Young Chefs Team Challenge, and Chef Abram Emmanuel Peralta, Chef Grace Martinez, with two other teammates from LPU Manila and LPU Batangas had the Bronze award in the Dream Team Challenge. Prime mover of the project Chef Abram, Team Leader Ms. Maureen Perez, Chef Samantha, Chef Maxin Liovanni Martinez, and Ms. Jonna Dotimas served as coaches to the said warriors. “The learning we got from the PCC experience will be our springboard for soaring higher in the upcoming competitions,” Dean Lilian R. Silang noted.
