Island Oasis

Spearheaded by G17 Sustainable Development Goal #13 in partnership with the League of Tourism Students – Laguna Chapter and dedicated volunteers from Lyceum of the Philippines University – Laguna, the team made a remarkable impact on both land and water ecosystems.

Together, the volunteers planted 500 mangrove and native trees, including Dilang Butiki, essential for coastal protection, biodiversity, and water quality improvement. These resilient trees act as natural barriers against erosion and storm surges while providing habitats for countless species.

The day also featured a coastal cleanup, leaving the beach pristine and reinforcing the importance of marine conservation. Through these efforts, the volunteers champion environmental stewardship and inspire others to join the movement for a healthier planet.

Together, may we sow the seeds of a sustainable future—one tree, one action, and one community at a time.
