What a truly momentous and enriching Day 2 unfolded at our NSTP Seminar, held under the compelling theme, “Resilient Communities, Active Changemakers: Taking Action for Safety, Security, and Sustainability!”
On June 11, at the PHL Building Drawing Lab at LPU-Laguna, this vital gathering further reinforced our institution’s unwavering commitment to cultivating proactive and responsible citizens. The event was organized and enthusiastically participated in by our first-year students from the College of Engineering and Computer Studies (COECS), all under the expert guidance of the ISRO Director and their dedicated NSTP Professor, Ms. Jisella Gesmundo. A pivotal segment of the day’s program featured a highly significant National Security and Drug Awareness Lecture, designed to empower our students with critical knowledge.
We were profoundly honored to welcome distinguished Guest Speakers from the Calamba City Police Station, PSMS Glenn Pajanustan, CADS PNCO and PCpl Ilyn M. Marayag under the supervision of PLTCOL Victor M. Sobrepeña, OIC. Their invaluable insights provided essential education, emphasizing the importance of treating individuals who use drugs with respect and empathy, advocating for the promotion of voluntary support systems, and underscoring the paramount necessity of prioritizing prevention strategies. The seminar’s proceedings commenced with a series of insightful opening remarks delivered by Dr. Celia Tibayan, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, setting an inspiring tone for the day’s learning. The event then concluded gracefully with thoughtful closing remarks from Ms. Michelle Yaon, the NSTP Coordinator.
This successful collaborative endeavor stands as a testament to the profound impact of fostering awareness and instilling a deep sense of responsible citizenship within our vibrant student body.
