Treks to Tradition: A Journey of Insight and Compassion

Culminating the invaluable experiences gained from “Treks to Tradition of Dumagat Tribe” held last May 1, 2024 at Brgy. Taluong, Polilio, Quezon, our volunteers carried home something far more meaningful than the donated school bags and grocery packs—the gift of insight, empathy, and a renewed appreciation for cultural diversity. Their time with the Dumagat tribe was not merely a journey; it was a soul-stirring reminder of how cultural exchange bridges divides and illuminates our shared humanity.

Represented by our President, Ms. Jill Nicole Gongon, the League of Tourism Students – Laguna Chapter celebrates the unity and compassion shown by partner organizations including G17 Sustainable Development Goal #13, Biology Society – LPU Laguna, dedicated student volunteers of Lyceum of the Philippines University Laguna, and the League itself.

Special acknowledgments go to our partners who made this endeavor possible:

  • Vice Mayor of Polillo: Hon. “Insan” Loel Santoalla
  • Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Polillo, Quezon
  • Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (MENRO) Polillo, Quezon
  • Bantay Kalikasan Polillo, Quezon

Indeed, through these connections, we witness unity, compassion, and the potential for positive change, reminding us that every journey is also a lesson in humanity.
