Urban Farming Training 101

A visit to one of the most prestigious urban farms in the city—Urban Farming—where ISRO, learners and mentors gained firsthand insight into sustainable farming practices right in the heart of the community.

The session began with the registration of participants, including representatives from ISRO, HS Coordinators, CITHM, CAS, CBA, COECS, and the Kababaihan of Maria Makiling & Ms. Michelle Yaon.

The program started with a warm Introduction and Orientation, followed by a tour of five informative stations:

Station 1: BGC Community Farm Tour – A walk-through of the thriving farm and its hands-on activities.

Station 2: Living Soil & Its Components – Understanding the foundation of healthy farming.

Station 3: Transplanting Techniques – Learning how to transfer seedlings to larger growing areas.

Station 4: Soilless Setups – Exploring hydroponics and alternative planting methods.

Station 5: Green Bars – Showcasing healthy produce-based beverages and products.

It was a truly enjoyable and enlightening experience that reminded us of the importance of strengthening and continuing farming activities, even in small spaces. Let’s pass this knowledge through generations and encourage everyone to grow their own food for a healthier and more sustainable future!
