THE FIRST IN BATANGAS: LPU-ST. CABRINI SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES LAUNCHES ITS DOCTOR OF MEDICINE PROGRAM

Lyceum of the Philippines University- St. Cabrini School of Health Sciences is the first Higher Education Institution in Batangas to offer Doctor of Medicine program.

In the launching of the College of Medicine last July 15, 2019, LPU-Laguna President Peter P. Laurel reminisced the humble beginning of LPU-St. Cabrini in 2002. He emphasized that offering a Medicine program is a breakthrough and reflection of the institution’s pursuit to offer quality education.

CENTER OF EXCELLENCE. Dr. Peter P. Laurel pointed out that College of Medicine is another milestone in LPU-Laguna’s pursuit to provide quality education.

“This milestone of putting up a Center of Excellence [now, on the field of Medicine] will not be possible without the extended support from our partner schools and industries,” Laurel said.

SETTING THE BARS HIGH. LPU-SC President Feliciano Torres hopes that the first batch of medicine student will pass the board on the first attempt.
30 doctors-to-be are currently enrolled under the Doctor of Medicine. The program is partnered with the St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. LPU-SC President Feliciano Torres is hopeful that the first batch will excel in academics and later on pass the board exam.

“As early as now, as you will start under our Doctor of Medicine program, your focus should already be that all of you should do your best and help each other to pass the board exam on the first attempt,” Torres uttered in his speech.

MEET THE TEACHERS. Faculty members are doctors from the prime hospitals in the Philippines.

 

 

The faculty of College of Medicine is headed by Dean Dr. Brigido L. Carandang and Vice Dean Dr. Mallen Gellido. Other faculty members are from the prime hospitals in the Philippines including Asian Hospital and Medical Center, St. Luke’s Medical Center, UST Hospital and General Emilio Aguinaldo Medical Center.
Also in attendance are Dr. Flora V. Javier (EVP and VPAA of LPU-Laguna), Crisostomo M. Malabuyoc (Vice President for Operations and External Relation of LPU-Laguna), Vice Mayor Armenius Silva (Sto. Tomas, Batangas) and other representatives from partner schools and hospitals of LPU-St. Cabrini School of Health Sciences.
